Forget and Remember

gerund                                                           to-infinitive

I won't forget meeting you.                 I won't forget  to go there.
Я не забуду зустрічі з вами.                                    Я не забуду піти туди.

Gerund (Ving) - for memories of the past (the action happened before the remembering)

1. Do you remember going to that place in Manchester? - Пам'ятаєш, як ти їздив у те місце в Манчестері? (спочатку ти був там, а потім згадував про це) 
2. I'll never forget landing at Hong Kong airport for the first time. - Я ніколи не забуду посадку в аеропорту Гонконгу в перший раз. (спочатку я побувала там, а потім пам'ятала про це) 
3. I remember locking the door. - Я пам'ятаю, що зачиняла двері.
4. I'll never forget flying over the Grand Canyon. It was wonderful. - Я ніколи не забуду політ над Великим Каньйоном. Це було чудово.

to-infinitive - necessary actions and whether they are done or not (the remembering happens before the action)

1. I must remember to ask the secretary for his phone number. - Я повинен пам'ятати взяти у секретаря його номер телефону. (пам'ятати зробити щось)
2. Oh, what I forgot to bring was the candle. - Ось, що я забула взяти з собою - свічку. (забути зробити щось)
3. Please remember to lock the door. - Будь ласка, не забудьте (пам'ятайте, що ви повинні) замкнути двері.
4. The clothes are still dirty because I forgot to switch on the machine. -Одяг все ще брудний, тому що я забула включити пральну машинку.
